This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Create and design network architecture, encompassing LAN/WAN infrastructure, routing protocols, and IP addressing frameworks.
• Assess and suggest network equipment, software, and tools to fulfill business needs.
• Work closely with stakeholders to comprehend network requirements and formulate strategies for network upgrades.
• Install, configure, and oversee network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
• Apply network protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and implement security measures for the network.
• Monitor network performance, pinpoint bottlenecks, and proactively enhance network infrastructure.
• Execute regular network capacity planning and propose necessary upgrades.
• Enforce and sustain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead and guide junior network engineers, offering mentorship and technical insights.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in a relevant domain.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience that includes:
• Configuration and installation of Routers, Switches, Unified Communications, Wireless Access Points, and Firewalls.
• Proficiency in Internet TCP/IP protocols such as DHCP, DNS, SNMP, TELNET, FTP, WWW, and SSH.
• Design and execution of intricate and secure LANs/WANs.
• Cisco (CCNP or higher), Juniper (JNCIS or higher), Palo Alto (PCNSA or higher), and Fortigate certifications are preferred.
• 37.5-hour work week.
