Senior Network Engineer, Consultant – Networking, Automation & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, transform, and manage intricate WAN, LAN, and WLAN infrastructures.

• Implement migrations and rollouts, transitioning from traditional networks to SDN methodologies.

• Create and uphold a Network Source of Truth utilizing NetBox or Nautobot.

• Coordinate AI agents, such as n8n, to streamline repetitive networking tasks.

• Conduct troubleshooting and log analysis.

• Detect network bottlenecks.

• Manage Incidents, Changes, and Problems adhering to ITIL standards.

• Develop and document sophisticated network architectures, SOPs, and operational models.

• Provide guidance on emerging technologies, including vendor assessments and roadmapping.

• Assume partial project responsibilities as needed.

• Plan and manage highly available networks.

• Implement WLAN environments featuring NAC and 802.1X.

• Assist in migrations to SD-WAN-based networks.

• Investigate incidents in the network systems of globally operating companies.


⛳️ Requirements

• CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification.

• Practical experience with diverse network architectures and technical orchestration.

• Strong critical thinking skills and responsible validation of AI agent outputs.

• WAN expertise: routing, MPLS, IPsec, DMVPN, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

• LAN expertise: switching, VLANs, trunking (802.1Q), port security, STP, and CDP/LLDP.

• WLAN expertise: WPA2/WPA3, WLAN controllers, and 802.11ac/ax/be (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7).

• VPN expertise: IPsec, IKEv1/v2, TLS-based VPNs, and remote access concepts.

• Troubleshooting and analysis skills using Wireshark, tcpdump, or Packet Tracer.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, as well as YAML/JSON.

• Experience with tools such as Postman or Bruno.

• Proficiency in German: at least C1 level.

• Proficiency in English: at least B1/B2 level.

• Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

• Nice-to-haves: Cisco AIBIZ, AITECH, DCAI, or similar AI training.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with n8n or similar automation platforms.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with NetBox, Nautobot, or similar SSoT/NSoT platforms.

• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and SIEM solutions such as Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana, or QRadar.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with NetBox Copilot and AI-driven infrastructure workflows.
