Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, integration, and practical implementation of enterprise network solutions that facilitate private cloud SDDC modernization projects.

• Create and execute automated deployment strategies for Layer 2/Layer 3 enterprise network architectures that support VMware-based private cloud environments.

• Formulate and integrate Software-Defined Networking solutions utilizing Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and related datacenter technologies.

• Design secure network architectures that cater to ECS, CPS, IaaS, DevOps platforms, and SMC.

• Collaborate with teams focused on infrastructure, virtualization, cybersecurity, and DevOps engineering.

• Develop network automation solutions employing IaC, Ansible, Python, Terraform, or similar technologies.

• Incorporate COTS networking solutions into secure enterprise environments.

• Create and maintain network architectures, engineering designs, implementation plans, technical procedures, and configuration documentation.

• Engage in Agile activities, including sprint planning, technical reviews, design governance, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

• Guide and mentor engineers, offering technical support.

• Travel to NATO locations to install, configure, integrate, test, and validate enterprise networking solutions.

• Assist in infrastructure modernization, technical planning, and proposal development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.

• Active NATO Secret clearance or a higher level of security clearance.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise routing, switching, and SDN solutions.

• Strong background in Cisco enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco ACI.

• Familiarity with VMware NSX or equivalent network virtualization technologies.

• Experience in designing and integrating enterprise network solutions for private cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

• Extensive knowledge of IaC, Ansible, Terraform, Python, or similar technologies.

• Understanding of enterprise networking concepts, network segmentation, routing protocols, switching, load balancing, DNS, and IP services.

• Knowledge of secure network architecture, Zero Trust principles, and enterprise cybersecurity practices.

• Experience with Agile, SAFe, or DevSecOps delivery frameworks.

• Strong skills in leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical collaboration.

• Experience in defense, government, or highly regulated development environments.

• CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certification is preferred.

• VMware NSX or equivalent SDN certification is preferred.

• Experience supporting NATO environments and compliance frameworks is preferred.

• Familiarity with F5 load balancing technologies is preferred.

• Experience with enterprise network monitoring, automation, and orchestration platforms is preferred.

• Knowledge of Python, REST APIs, and network programmability is preferred.

• Experience in supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization and enterprise platform engineering initiatives is preferred.
