Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Resolves intricate and larger-scale LAN/WLAN/WAN challenges.

• Facilitates high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of network communication equipment.

• Acts as the regional point of contact for network-related issues.

• Oversees configuration and communication interconnection matters.

• Addresses issues related to multi-protocol routing and network management.

• Provides written recommendations through tickets, documentation standards, or updates to existing protocols.

• Offers guidance on the design, deployment, implementation, and standardization of LAN/WLAN/WAN to support the MHS mission.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.

• Compliance with DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M at IAM Level III or an equivalent standard.

• Required experience in DoD Health Care Information Systems.

• Expert-level knowledge of standard networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and 802-series communication standards.

• Advanced experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments utilizing supported Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity.

• Practical experience with SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MIB, MRTG-type monitoring, diagnostic tools, network administration tools, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards.

• Capability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs.

• Ability to lead network specialists and collaborate with Government personnel, medical staff, other contractors, the NetMOD Network Standards Team, and internal/external organizations.
