Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold Akamai's worldwide network infrastructure.

• Create and sustain core network configuration templates utilizing Jinja2.

• Deploy new hardware platforms and network capabilities within the automation framework.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to establish data models and functional specifications.

• Act as a subject matter expert for intricate network challenges.

• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and analysis.

• Oversee the design, implementation, and automation of global network infrastructure.

• Propel the advancement of network infrastructure from initial architecture to execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of pertinent experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Extensive background in IP network design and the execution of scalable BGP routing architecture.

• Familiarity with data center architecture, including CLOS Fabric.

• Knowledge of overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN.

• Experience in managing and troubleshooting multi-vendor environments, including Juniper, Cisco, and Arista.

• Proficiency with routing platforms such as BIRD, FRR, and Cumulus.

• Understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns.

• Capability to develop and manage network configuration templates using Python, Ansible, and Jinja2.

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automation tools.
