Senior Network Engineer – Active Secret Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments while troubleshooting issues as they arise.

• Provide support for Cisco network infrastructure, which includes routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS solutions.

• Act as the regional technical lead for network operations, overseeing configuration management and performance of the network.

• Analyze and resolve intricate network problems using tools such as SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, and other network management software.

• Configure and support various routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRRP, and RSTP.

• Create and maintain network standards, documentation, and operational procedures.

• Collaborate with government personnel and technical teams to ensure secure and highly available network operations.

• Assist in network security initiatives and the implementation of Zero Trust architecture.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or technical/vocational education with 10+ years of directly related experience.

• An active Secret Security Clearance is required.

• DoD 8570 IAM Level III certification or an equivalent is necessary.

• CISSP certification is mandatory.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.

• Experience in Cisco Enterprise Networking.

• Proficiency in LAN, WLAN, and WAN Engineering.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and HTTP/HTTPS.

• Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VRRP.

• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and UNIX systems.

• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and IDS.

• Proficient in using SolarWinds Orion.

• Experience with ARMIS and Ansible.

• Preferred: Familiarity with DoD Healthcare Information Systems.

• Preferred: Experience in enterprise network monitoring and performance management.

• Preferred: Knowledge of optical and cable testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers).

• Preferred: Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and cybersecurity best practices.
