Senior Network Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, strategize, and oversee the deployment of network technologies to align with business and growth objectives.

• Assess project requirements, outline project scope, create project timelines, and develop comprehensive network designs for assigned initiatives.

• Create work breakdown structures (WBS) that illustrate a clear understanding of proposed modifications and their implementation with minimal disruption to services.

• Conduct analysis and troubleshooting of highly intricate networking issues; develop simulated networks in test environments to address significant challenges and compatibility issues.

• Plan and lead complex network upgrades and migration projects, including highly automated settings and quarterly maintenance activities that involve multiple coordinated changes with varied stakeholders.

• Prepare and keep current documentation that details the configuration of deployed solutions; generate network configurations and operational run books.

• Offer mentorship and technical guidance to current network team members and partner teams during outages and downtimes, where both technical acumen and business communication skills are essential.

• Work collaboratively with vendors to oversee circuit delivery, troubleshoot issues, and manage network migrations.

• Perform additional duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering or network support settings.

• Demonstrated experience in network operations and service optimization within highly available, multi-vendor, large-scale, multi-site, and international network infrastructure environments; some design experience is necessary.

• Strong understanding of WAN circuits and protocols: SR-TE, MPLS, DWDM, DMVPN, and SD-WAN.

• Practical expertise with dynamic IP routing protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, eBGP/BGP, and PIM Multicast.

• Varied skills across network operating systems including Cumulus Linux, Cisco IOS, Arista EOS, and others.

• Familiarity with virtualization and overlay technologies—both networking (VxLAN, BGP-MP, VRFs) and compute (VMware, Kubernetes, Docker)—and their methods of integration.

• Advanced internetworking problem-solving abilities in both enterprise and web-scale network environments.

• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; capable of effectively presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to link new technology initiatives to cost savings and return on investment assessments.
