Senior Network Delivery Architect – Data Center, Network Infrastructure Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee capacity planning and lifecycle processes for global physical infrastructure layers, which include network fabrics, core backbone networks, and optical systems.

• Direct global colocation planning efforts, assess site readiness for power, space, liquid cooling, and connectivity, and manage colocation exit workflows.

• Supervise core platform project planning across various product types and locations.

• Prioritize execution, coordinate interdependencies, and manage timelines to align with business goals.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, enhancing network efficiency.

• Convert high-level platform strategies into actionable infrastructure deployment plans.

• Ensure metro-level resiliency, redundancy, and scalable growth for Akamai's global platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proficiency in internet architecture.

• Expertise in optical transport systems.

• Knowledge in high-density fabric switching.

• Familiarity with metro routing.

• Understanding of colocation infrastructure standards, including liquid-to-chip cooling.

• Capability to analyze data and deliver actionable solutions and thought leadership.

• Experience in leading projects.

• Strong communication skills to articulate risks and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

• Ability to grasp technical concepts and convey them to diverse audiences.
