Senior Network and Security Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the network infrastructure.

• Administer firewalls and ensure security measures are in place.

• Monitor and resolve network issues effectively.

• Manage compliance and risk assessments.

• Maintain documentation and oversee change management processes.

• Foster collaboration and provide support to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SMTP, and similar protocols.

• Proficiency in static and dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, STP, and QoS.

• Capability to establish detailed access control policies based on source/destination, ports, protocols, and applications.

• Competent in developing flow matrices.

• Experience with tools such as Splunk, Syslog, SNMP, or NetFlow.

• Assist in investigations by analyzing firewall logs and traffic patterns.

• Familiarity with platforms like Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Check Point, and others.

• Experience with stateful inspection, NAT, VPN, SSL inspection, and application-level filtering.

• Knowledge of Ansible, Python, or REST APIs for automating firewall rule deployment and audits.

• Adhere to structured processes for rule modifications.
