This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina, +1 more state.
• Direct the development of technical strategies for the modernization of system architectures related to Navy platforms, ship classes, and fleet-wide initiatives.
• Assess the alignment of technical solutions with Navy modernization roadmaps, which include fleet recapitalization strategies and planned capability insertions.
• Act as a subject-matter expert on the integration and interoperability of Navy system-of-systems across various platforms and warfare domains.
• Assist in engineering trade studies, requirements formulation, technical baselines, and risk evaluations.
• Collaborate with Navy program offices, warfare centers, PAEs, systems commands, and operational users to validate requirements and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Offer authoritative insights on emerging technologies, digital engineering methodologies, and pathways for system modernization.
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Over 10 years of experience supporting the U.S. Navy in a technical, engineering, systems architecture, or communications-focused role.
• Must fulfill all DoD and Navy prerequisites for access to classified systems, networks, and facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Navy shipboard systems, including:
• o Communications suites (RF systems, SATCOM, data links, C4I networks)
• o Combat systems and sensors
• o Platform systems integration
• Proven expertise with U.S. Navy systems modernization processes, strategies, and roadmaps (e.g., CANES, ADNS, CEC, NIFC-CA, AEGIS modernization, Shipyard availabilities).
• Demonstrated proficiency in system integration and upgrade requirements at shipyards and during operations at sea.
• Established ability to design, evaluate, and articulate complex system architectures to both engineering and operational stakeholders.
• Strong grasp of Navy acquisition processes, fleet operational employment, and system-of-systems engineering principles.
• Exceptional technical writing and presentation skills.
