Senior Mobile Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Rula’s mobile applications designed for patients.

• Take full responsibility for the delivery of features across both iOS and Android platforms utilizing React Native.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers to deliver intuitive and reliable user experiences.

• Advance the mobile architecture to ensure scalability and performance.

• Enhance engineering quality through rigorous testing and performance optimization.

• Oversee the delivery of mobile features from design inception through to release and ongoing monitoring.

• Manage projects from design to delivery while making necessary trade-offs.

• Work closely with teammates and cross-functional partners to identify risks and provide clear scope and estimates.

• Guide and support junior engineers via code reviews, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to the long-term success of Rula’s mobile platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on building production mobile applications.

• At least 3 years of experience with React Native, TypeScript, and contemporary React development.

• Proven experience in delivering mobile features from initial design to release and monitoring.

• Proficiency in native iOS development using Swift/Objective-C and Android development using Kotlin/Java.

• Experience taking ownership of projects from design to delivery, making trade-offs, and effectively communicating decisions.

• Strong ability to collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners, identify risks early on, and contribute to clear project scopes and estimates.

• Capability to mentor and assist junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, including understanding their benefits, risks, and the necessity for human oversight.

• Applicants must reside in the United States; Rula is not currently hiring in Hawaii.

• Preferred qualifications include experience in publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play.

• Preferred: familiarity with mobile CI/CD and automated release pipelines.

• Preferred: experience in developing AI-powered or LLM-enabled mobile features.

• Preferred: knowledge of mobile observability and crash reporting tools, such as Datadog, Crashlytics, and Sentry.

• Preferred: background in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
