Senior Mobile Core Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configuring STPs, DRAs, HLR/HSS, SMSC, SGSN, GGSN/PGW, SBC, and more.

• Collaborating with the team to manage all equipment within our network.

• Utilizing dashboards (and creating new ones) to swiftly identify issues and trends.

• Being accountable and responsible for adhering to established communication procedures during incident handling.

• Engaging in communication both internally within the company and externally with third-party providers.

• Leading the implementation of telecom interconnections in collaboration with our providers.

• Conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, security audits, and emergency response activities.

• Performing Wireshark tracing of critical infrastructure to resolve issues.

• Meeting occasional on-call requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the core network domain with mobile networks.

• A BSc degree in Telecommunication or Computer Science is required (post-graduate studies are an advantage).

• Over 10 years of core telecommunications network experience.

• More than 10 years of experience with SS7, Sigtran, Diameter, and Packet Switched technologies (GGSN/PGW, GTP, GRX, IPX, etc.).

• Familiarity with circuit-switched communication protocols such as SS7 (including SCCP, TCAP, MAP, and CAMEL phases 1 to 4), SCTP (SIGTRAN), and Diameter, along with the ability to design and configure voice and messaging flows.

• Knowledge of voice SIP/RTP, ISUP, and voice convergence technologies, including IMS (VoLTE and VoWiFi), as well as general knowledge in Voice Mail, IVR, and PBX systems/softphones (secondary).

• Proficiency with sniffers, Wireshark, and advanced testing tools.

• Practical experience with Linux/Unix-based systems (ability to navigate a Linux shell).

• Understanding of 3GPP, ITU-T, and ANSI standards.

• Knowledge of roaming agreements and IR.21, including IREG testing.

• Familiarity with Online Charging System (OCS) and CAMEL in billing and call control.

• Strong writing and documentation skills for report development are essential.

• Ability to adapt and respond to change effectively.

• Capability to work well under pressure.

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.

• Willingness to work morning/afternoon shifts.
