📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete architecture and scope for your projects, leading teams to design and implement Azure solutions that fulfill established goals for value, security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.

• Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert during engagements, guiding consultants and engineers to ensure that implementations remain consistent with the architecture and standards.

• Employ sound engineering practices—such as clear interfaces, modular design, and testability—to develop reliable, maintainable solutions in your primary area of expertise.

• Offer architectural guidance throughout the implementation process, including design and pull-request reviews, shaping cloud patterns and guardrails, and providing practical solutions to help teams overcome obstacles.

• Utilize AI tools to expedite coding, testing, documentation, and similar tasks, while sharing effective practices so that they become repeatable benefits for teams and clients.

• Design sophisticated semantic models using star schemas, DAX, and Power Query.

• Counsel clients on Power BI architecture, governance, and deployment strategies.

• Lead discovery and requirements sessions for your workstreams, clarifying scope, dependencies, and risks, and shaping a prioritized backlog with clear acceptance criteria linked to business outcomes.

• Simplify complex technical topics for both technical and non-technical audiences, consistently connecting technical decisions back to client objectives.

• Build trust with managers and product owners, influencing priorities and roadmaps to support the client's long-term goals.

• Enable teams to maintain stable velocity and low defect rates by providing clear architecture, interfaces, and automation across build, test, and deployment, while designing for incremental delivery with a well-defined Definition of Done.

• Align multiple teams on shared outcomes, contracts, and integration points, ensuring that dependencies are identified early, owned, and tracked through the delivery process.

• Promote effective Agile practices by ensuring that the architecture and backlog structure facilitate incremental delivery, a clear Definition of Done, and data-informed adjustments based on telemetry and feedback.

• Mentor others through pairing, design reviews, and constructive feedback that enhances design skills, technical judgment, and confidence, with a particular emphasis on senior engineers and technical leads.

• Provide architectural oversight across teams or workstreams, demonstrating pragmatic decision-making and instructing others on when to keep designs simple versus introducing new patterns or technologies.

• Support recruitment and professional growth by engaging in technical interviews, calibration discussions, and cross-project mentorship.

• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities across all our capabilities (beyond your current specialty) and communicating them to the sales director.

• Collaborate with sales and account leaders on pursuits by defining the cloud vision, contributing architectural insights, and participating in client workshops, demos, and roadmap discussions.

• Produce solution options, high-level designs, and estimates in your domains, clearly documenting assumptions, dependencies, and risks, explaining how proposed approaches generate business value and mitigate risk.

• Create and maintain reusable assets such as runbooks, workshops, starter repositories, and templates to facilitate consistent solution delivery by engineers.

• Advocate for modern frameworks, patterns, tools, and AI-assisted practices that enhance quality, speed, or reliability in a secure and responsible manner.

• Actively engage in enablement initiatives that foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

• Experience with analytics and custom visualizations for Power BI using Python and R.

• Strong SQL skills and experience in optimizing analytical queries.

• Proven track record of leading hybrid and remote teams while maintaining alignment, quality, and predictable delivery across time zones.

• Proficiency in at least one major public cloud platform, with a strong preference for Azure.

• Comprehensive understanding of core concepts, languages, frameworks, and design patterns in your primary domain, with the ability to apply them to build robust, maintainable systems.

• Experience using AI-augmented development and integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into solutions via APIs, libraries, or cloud-based AI services.

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies, including backlog refinement and iteration planning.

• Experience in consulting or professional services is advantageous.

• Knowledge of key cloud services relevant to your domain, such as messaging, compute, data, security, networking, and integration.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
