Senior ML Engineer – Auto Tagger

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance distributed data pipelines for processing extensive multi-sensor logs.

• Create and refine both heuristic-based and machine learning-assisted algorithms to automatically categorize and articulate complex scenarios.

• Extract and format scenario data using the Pegasus layer standard to maintain semantic coherence.

• Oversee the ingestion of tagged events into the observations database, facilitating rapid querying and retrieval for machine learning training.

• Operate with significant autonomy to foster agreement across organizational boundaries, working closely with downstream stakeholders.

• Mentor and uplift less-experienced engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related STEM field, with over 6 years of experience in data engineering, machine learning systems, or autonomous data curation.

• Proficient in Python and SQL, with extensive experience in processing large time-series or unstructured datasets.

• Practical experience in machine learning and dataset curation, demonstrating the ability to implement targeted datasets that significantly enhance downstream model performance.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks (or similar platforms) for large-scale analytics, interactive querying, and enabling searchability of vast vehicle datasets.

• Expertise in distributed computing frameworks (Ray, Spark, Beam) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for managing intensive data workloads.

• Experience in parsing intricate data formats and utilizing scenario-description standards like Pegasus layers.

• Exceptional skill in transforming complex data engineering challenges into clear strategies for cross-functional teams.

• Proven history of mentoring teams, shaping system architecture, and defining engineering roadmaps.
