Senior Millwork Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Gathers, analyzes, and organizes data for use in conceptual or bid proposal estimates, while preparing routine estimates with general oversight.

• Ensures accuracy and completeness of all quantity surveys and pricing.

• Supports the formation of bidding strategies by debriefing the salesperson on project elements.

• Manages project documentation, ensuring all documents are comprehensive and effectively communicate decisions to sales and operations teams.

• Participates in pre-bid meetings to review project specifics and scope.

• Engages in bid closings and estimate evaluations.

• Balances workload and assignments to adhere to deadlines.

• Conducts a value analysis study by identifying alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-effective.

• Oversees action items from Post Bid and finalizes ISEC scope.

• Calculates cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities, requirements, and labor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in the field.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Strong strategic thinking and proactive engagement to effectively move projects through the estimating process; holds team members accountable.

• Gains trust to finalize bids without the need for management oversight.

• Proactively seeks competitive insights to inform the project team.

• Produces thorough estimates/bids due to extensive supplier knowledge.

• Possesses advanced understanding of ISEC products, services, processes, and projects.

• Experienced with multiple or larger projects characterized by increased scope and complexity.

• Capable of making independent decisions.

• Fully autonomous in the role.

• Directs activities and provides recommendations and solutions.

• Exhibits problem-solving skills and mature judgment in anticipating and addressing issues.

• Assists in the development and mentoring of Level 1 & 2 staff; may oversee multiple direct reports.
