This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate existing SLD & 3LD, schematics, and wiring diagrams pertinent to the meters.
• Assess and/or evaluate labor and equipment for project budgeting needs.
• Offer guidance to junior team members.
• Create and/or review specifications for the procurement of materials or equipment.
• Program revenue and check meters to account for intricate system losses and monitor revenue and real-time data.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and certify revenue and check meters along with various electronic data recorders.
• Formulate, sustain, and review company metering standards, training, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Confirm the wiring and meter precision of commercial and utility-scale revenue metering setups and assist others with wiring verification.
• Examine the root causes of commercial and utility-scale metering issues, perform repairs, advise clients on potential solutions, and aid others in meter troubleshooting.
• Conduct and guide less experienced team members on Factory Acceptance Testing of communication parameters and revenue data outputs of meters.
• Educate and mentor engineers and technicians on all facets of the installation and maintenance of various meter applications in the field using a portable test kit.
• Design and assess metering panels.
• Proficient in standard discipline-specific software and provide training to others.
• Inspect new and existing meter panels to ensure compliance with client specifications, relevant codes, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Two-year technical degree in an engineering field or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least 10 years of pertinent experience in revenue metering.
• Possession of a Metering Inspector certification/badge is preferred; examples include: ERCOT EPS Meter Inspector certification and CAISO Authorized Inspector.
• Expertise in metering design principles.
• Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously while supporting other projects as necessary, ensuring deadlines are met through effective prioritization and delegation.
• Demonstrated excellent communication, time management, attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational skills within a team in the office, meter shop, or field.
• Takes responsibility for the quality of work produced.
• Proven capability to coach and mentor several individuals.
• Acts with integrity and strives for excellence in work.
• Proven skill in reading, tracing, modifying, and creating engineering design drawings, including SLD, 3LD, logic diagrams, and DC schematics as they relate to the meters.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and additional software knowledge based on specialization.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards.
• Willingness to travel nationwide to project sites, particularly in Texas and/or California.
• Minimum 50% travel required.
