Senior Medical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Create original content for various publication and communication activities, which include primary and review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, meeting summaries, and other materials aimed at healthcare professionals and internal audiences.

• Evaluate, interpret, and utilize clinical data to generate high-quality scientific communications.

• Develop materials in accordance with internal writing guidelines, specific client style guidelines, compliance best practices, and journal style requirements.

• Adhere to internal workflows, deliverable development, industry best practices, and GPP3 protocols.

• Exhibit adaptability to work on different therapeutic teams as necessary.

• Maintain a proactive stance on initiatives for both existing and prospective clients.

• Collaborate with team members to manage workload effectively and create achievable project timelines.

• Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas, and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts.

• Accurately and efficiently compile and integrate author and client feedback.

• Engage in author and client teleconferences and address content-related inquiries.

• Lead author teleconferences when required.

• Review and revise the work of medical writers and freelance writers as necessary.

• Take part in brainstorming sessions and strategic publication-planning meetings.

• Attend advisory boards and roundtables to document and synthesize meetings into formal reports.

• Assist in new business presentations by researching, analyzing, and synthesizing pharmacologic attributes, clinical data, and market research into strategic applications.

• Participate in new business presentations as appropriate.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality work within deadlines and develop solutions tailored to client needs.

• Keep management informed of significant departmental concerns and issues.

• Represent the organization in a professional manner and contribute to the company’s goals, values, team culture, and internal communications.


⛳️ Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, or MD degree.

• At least 3 years of experience in medical communications.

• Extensive professional medical writing experience across a diverse range of communication formats.

• Ability to work independently on assigned projects.

• Demonstrate expertise in assigned therapeutic areas and knowledge of assigned products.

• Willingness to travel as required by client needs, including attending client meetings, congress meetings, and sales meetings.

• Capability to attend and conduct both virtual and in-person presentations.

• Flexibility to commit to additional and/or nontraditional hours based on client requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of scientific and medical accuracy.

• Proven track record of producing high-quality medical communications outputs, such as manuscripts, posters, and physician/patient materials.

• Expertise in multiple therapeutic areas.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
