This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Act as a scientific representative to the medical and scientific community.
• Build, nurture, and sustain relationships with leading experts and clinicians across the US.
• Collaborate and network with medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision-makers, and pharmacy directors.
• Convey scientific and medical information along with the commercial value of products to both medical and internal/external audiences.
• Gather, synthesize, and relay customer feedback effectively.
• Align customers' unmet needs with appropriate internal resources.
• Work together with different functional areas to pinpoint opportunities that can be addressed through scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify and train potential new speakers on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Engage in national and regional conferences, meetings, and scientific events.
• Gather competitive intelligence, track clinical trends, and strengthen relationships with key investigators and scientific research.
• Assess external clinical research collaboration prospects.
• Facilitate external clinical investigator-initiated trials as well as company-sponsored trials.
• Keep an eye on the competitive landscape for advancements in therapeutic areas, treatment management, new therapies, and competitive products/features.
• Provide insights to senior leadership regarding competitor activities.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. is preferred; other doctoral degrees will be considered.
• A minimum of 2 years in a medical science liaison position within a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Proven ability, or potential, to thrive in smaller entrepreneurial settings.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and networking abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% for territory management, and to attend regional and national conferences/workshops and company meetings.
• Capability to work up to 15-hour days when travel is required.
• Ability to adapt to new business applications on hardware tools such as PC and iPad.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Professional and proactive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
