This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of FDA, EU, and other pertinent guidelines and industry standards to ensure that documents fulfill or surpass sponsor and regulatory expectations and guidance.
• Acts as a representative of the editorial group in medical writing, participating in study teams and cross-departmental project teams as necessary.
• Oversees timelines and budgets for assigned projects and informs the lead medical writer, project manager, and/or direct supervisor (as appropriate) if deliverables are at risk.
• Offers technical support and expertise as required.
• Conducts training sessions for medical editing staff and serves as a mentor.
• Provides guidance to medical writers, medical editors, and study teams regarding quality review, compilation, and editorial standards.
• Delivers training to members of the global medical writing team in relation to their specific roles.
• Takes the lead on complex and/or large medical writing projects, including scheduling and leading internal project-specific team meetings, organizing project-specific requirements, and ensuring all information is communicated to the editorial team and implemented within the deliverable.
• Functions as a member of the medical writing team for projects requiring medical writing deliverables.
• Provides feedback to the lead medical writer on the progress of the editorial process.
• Edits assigned documents, ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style in accordance with the AMA Manual of Style or various custom style guidelines, as well as established medical writing internal checklists and best practices.
• Conducts quality reviews of assigned documents to guarantee accuracy.
• Contributes to the creation of process improvement tools and the development or revision of internal policies and procedures that affect editorial work.
• Manages assigned projects in line with medical writing standard operating procedures and client standards, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• May compile medical writing deliverables.
