Senior Medical Director – National Accounts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead clinical strategy, innovation, and client impact within the National Accounts Organization.

• Act as the foremost clinical representative for major employer clients.

• Provide clinical analysis, strategic direction, and thought leadership.

• Communicate Cigna’s value proposition during finalist meetings and engagements with consultants.

• Guide RFP responses with innovative and client-specific strategies.

• Represent clinical leadership during consultant roadshows and strategic forums.

• Collaborate with National Account Executives to create clinical roadmaps that support retention, growth, and product adoption.

• Analyze client data to pinpoint cost drivers, population health needs, and program performance.

• Offer actionable recommendations.

• Serve as a liaison among clients, account teams, and Clinical Operations to address complex issues.

• Assist with clinical audits and corrective action plans.

• Convert enterprise innovations into insights and training for account teams.

• Represent client and consultant viewpoints across Product, Informatics, Marketing, and Clinical Operations forums.

• Deliver presentations and contribute to thought leadership regarding employer health innovation.

• Track trends in digital health, value-based care, and population health management.

• Cultivate relationships with consultants, health system executives, and technology partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board-certified physician in a specialty recognized by ABMS.

• Active, unrestricted medical license.

• At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in medical management, encompassing roles in insurance, consulting, health systems, or health technology companies.

• Outstanding communication, analytical, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with an emphasis on results and innovation.

• Willingness to travel extensively.

• For remote work, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speed is required.
