Medical Director – Post Acute

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct time-sensitive, specialized medical case reviews based on evidence for medical necessity using EviCore’s case management software.

• Engage in peer-to-peer consultation calls with referring physicians to discuss the appropriateness of requested services or treatments based on evidence-based medical necessity.

• Utilize clinical knowledge to suggest alternative treatments or services when necessary.

• Participate in virtual rounds with your team of nurses.

• Collaborate with more than 500 EviCore physician colleagues to ensure patients receive appropriate care through evidence-based decision-making.

• Complete structured remote training with guidance from trainers, mentors, and leadership.

• Remain updated on healthcare regulations and industry advancements while reviewing cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with a valid and active medical license in a U.S. state and board certification in Primary Care (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine), Emergency Medicine, or PM&R Medicine, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association.

• Qualified to obtain additional state licensure as needed.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience following residency or fellowship.

• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws.

• Knowledge of standards from the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance is advantageous.

• Ability to adhere to a fixed weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).

• Proficient computer skills: capable of working independently with automated processes, applications, and systems.

• Meet the physical demands of the position, including typing, speaking, and listening 100% of the time.

• A company-provided encrypted workstation is required to be connected via hard-wire to a modem or router; wireless connections are not allowed.

• Home internet service must be cable broadband or fiber optic, with a minimum speed of 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload.
