Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire.

📋 Description

• Oversee mechanical design and act as project manager for building systems projects, which encompass HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

• Create and assess construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.

• Ensure that designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and client requirements (such as ASHRAE and local building regulations).

• Manage scope, schedule, and budgets for assigned projects.

• Act as the main point of contact for select projects, fostering and sustaining strong client relationships.

• Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary design teams, which include internal civil, structural, and electrical personnel.

• Supervise construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and site inspections.

• Lead and engage in both internal and external project meetings, ensuring clear communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.

• Assist in proposal development, effort estimation, and project planning activities.

• Mentor junior engineers and support technical growth within the mechanical team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for MEP design.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection, and relevant building codes and ASHRAE standards.

• Experience in managing projects through both design and construction phases.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Familiarity with BIM coordination tools is preferred.

• Willingness to travel to job sites in CT, MA, and RI.
