Senior Mechanical Construction Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create precise and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects.

• Examine project plans and specifications to identify the scope of work and necessary materials.

• Work collaboratively with project teams to formulate thorough cost management strategies.

• Assess project requirements and offer value engineering alternatives.

• Conduct cost risk assessments and contribute to value engineering efforts.

• Engage and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other involved parties.

• Leverage industry-specific estimating software and tools to generate estimates.

• Provide estimating advice, direction, and analysis to project stakeholders.

• Keep current with estimating processes and methodologies.

• Prepare formal estimating reports that include quantities, costs, escalation, assumptions, and clarifications.

• Assist in establishing estimating standards and best practices.

• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.

• A minimum of 5–7 years of pertinent experience.

• Experience in supporting program-level cost management for medium to large construction projects.

• Strong understanding of construction industry technical aspects, including value management and value engineering.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• Capability to excel in a client-facing position.

• Familiarity with industry-specific estimating software and tools.

• Understanding of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
