This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Direct the strategy and implementation for recruitment across all segments of the organization—Summer Staff, Camp Leadership, and Headquarters positions.
• Collaborate closely with the People Team and Cross-Functional Leaders to maintain uniformity in hiring practices, uphold data integrity, and strategically utilize our recruiting systems.
• Ensure that hiring objectives and deadlines are achieved so that both HQ and camps are adequately staffed in accordance with company goals.
• Balance strategic planning with hands-on leadership by developing and executing recruitment strategies, creating diverse candidate pipelines, and guaranteeing an outstanding experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
• Spearhead Galileo's employer branding initiatives, ensuring our voice and values are represented throughout all hiring processes and recruitment channels.
• Supervise hiring progress toward objectives, ensuring that standards for staff quality, hiring timelines, and headcount are achieved across all departments.
• Manage, mentor, and develop year-round direct reports, establishing priorities, timelines, and success criteria for each hiring category.
• Oversee indirect seasonal recruiting staff during peak hiring periods, ensuring effective onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Cultivate a cohesive and collaborative TA team culture that promotes high performance, shared learning, and continuous improvement.
• Design and execute annual and seasonal recruiting and selection strategies in collaboration with the head of People and other stakeholders.
• Drive metrics such as applicant volume, conversion rates, time-to-fill, and cost-per-hire across all hiring categories.
• Guide sourcing strategy for talent through job boards, social media, partnerships, community outreach, and referral programs to establish diverse candidate pools.
• Manage vendor relationships and external recruiting partners to ensure that cost per hire stays within established limits.
• Develop, implement, and execute a cohesive employer branding strategy that positions Galileo as an employer of choice across various digital platforms and networks.
• Ensure a consistent, timely, and engaging candidate journey from initial contact through to offer acceptance.
• Monitor candidate feedback and hiring manager satisfaction to enhance recruiting processes continually.
• Work collaboratively to sustain consistent hiring practices, effectively leverage recruiting systems, and ensure data accuracy across all hiring pipelines.
• Partner with Field Operations, HQ department heads, and other leaders to align recruiting timelines and staffing levels with program requirements.
• Prepare and facilitate the content for cross-functional hiring process reviews and annual debriefs to foster improvements across the organization.
• Track and analyze recruiting metrics to evaluate performance, identify trends, and make data-informed decisions.
• Provide regular progress updates and key insights to People Team leadership and cross-functional partners throughout the organization.
• Suggest and implement process enhancements to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.
• 6+ years of progressive recruiting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role or function, demonstrating an ability to coach and develop direct reports.
• Dedication to equitable, bias-aware hiring practices and knowledge of multi-state recruiting compliance considerations.
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple competing priorities and deadlines during high-volume hiring cycles.
• An exceptional communicator skilled at building relationships and collaborating across teams, inspiring peers and team members to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
• Proven success in managing multi-tier or high-volume hiring pipelines (seasonal, field, and corporate/HQ roles), and accountability for metrics such as time-to-fill, conversion rates, cost-per-hire, and headcount goals.
• Experience in crafting and implementing employer brand strategies through job boards, social media, and community or referral channels to attract diverse candidates.
• Strong familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting data, with the ability to convert metrics into process enhancements; experience with SmartRecruiters is advantageous.
• A proactive and strategic thinker passionate about developing efficient, scalable staffing solutions.
