Senior Manager, Systems Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers along with a tech lead.

• Establish clear expectations, uphold a high-performance standard, and cultivate engineers responsible for essential internal systems.

• Oversee the end-to-end automation of joiner, mover, and leaver processes using Okta Workflows.

• Ensure that access is accurately provisioned, adjusted during role transitions, and completely revoked upon departure, including API keys and service credentials.

• Develop and manage device assurance for both macOS and Windows platforms.

• Define policies for OS, browser, and device states prior to enforcement.

• Streamline the ITSM environment and enhance self-service capabilities.

• Regulate SaaS procurement with SSO enforcement and conduct access reviews.

• Manage the identity, access, and connector infrastructure for the company-wide AI stack, which includes MCP servers and Vercel.

• Create transparency in work intake and team capacity.

• Collaborate with Security, GRC, Finance, and Engineering to establish secure self-service guardrails.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven history of elevating the performance of an inherited team through ongoing one-on-one coaching.

• A willingness to tackle inherited complexities, including endpoint programs, migrations, and workflows.

• An enablement-first mindset focused on making systems safe for self-service.

• Technical acumen to assess estimates and differentiate between genuine risks and reported progress.

• Hands-on experience with AI in enterprise tools.

• Background in deploying or managing AI-assisted automation in platforms such as Okta, Intune, Jamf, Atlassian, or GitHub.

• Experience that encompasses identity, endpoint, ITSM, and procurement, or deep knowledge in most areas with a broader scope.

• Ability to operate effectively through influence across partner organizations.

• 8+ years of experience in IT or systems engineering.

• 3+ years of experience managing and developing engineers.

• Experience preferably in a company that has scaled through a significant increase in headcount.

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Willingness to utilize AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and impact.
