This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive strategies aimed at fostering philanthropic support by overseeing an existing portfolio of funders, prospects, and program issue areas.
• Aid the National, States and Regions, Strategic Communications, and Programs and Equity teams during quarterly fundraising check-ins, which includes creating the agenda and tracking action items and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with the SP team and external consultants to establish and manage an active pipeline that continually identifies and recruits new prospective funders for USEF.
• Help maintain sophisticated relationships with partners by facilitating meaningful and regular contact through meetings, convenings, and other activities, ensuring funders remain committed to USEF and the climate and clean energy sectors.
• Proactively document and track all follow-up issues and action items that arise from meetings with external funders and stakeholder convenings, as well as from internal USEF meetings, both independently and in collaboration with the SP team and other USEF colleagues.
• Assist the SP team and USEF leadership in preparation for significant meetings, including the creation of agendas, scheduling support, and collaboration with the team to gather background research on current and prospective funders.
• In conjunction with the SP team and USEF colleagues, engage directly with funders and prospects to involve them in areas of program interest.
• Work alongside the SP Communications team and other staff to develop, edit, and maintain drafts of materials for funder engagement.
• Partner with USEF leadership and the SP team to organize essential funder events, briefings, forums, and meetings by creating invitation lists, drafting invitations, providing scheduling support, and tracking RSVPs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to enhance and integrate the SP team into organizational processes and to implement new systems.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
• Proven relevant work experience in areas such as fundraising, partnerships, and relationship management within a nonprofit, foundation, or business environment.
• Experience working with a diverse range of donors or partners.
• Background in communicating and collaborating with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, including high-profile individuals and institutions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, engaging with diverse stakeholders and juggling various priorities.
• Essential ability to anticipate the needs of team members, colleagues, donors, and other external stakeholders.
• Desired knowledge of climate change or clean energy issues.
• A strong commitment to contributing positively to a workplace where equity and inclusion are foundational values.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Technical proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, preferably in a Mac environment.
• Familiarity with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets, as well as Box.
• Preferred experience with cloud-based relational database systems like Salesforce.
