Senior Manager – Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Act as a strategic finance partner to the PPD finance, commercial, and operations teams by providing comprehensive analysis and insights regarding cost and pricing trends, pricing strategy, and the development of commercial terms for PPD businesses (clinical, labs, and patient advisory services).

• Contribute to the design of joint service offerings with other divisions of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

• Generate value by enhancing commercial decisions and structuring commercial terms effectively.

• Collaborate across functional teams to create efficient processes and frameworks that aid leadership in making informed decisions and implementing strategic pricing initiatives.

• Develop commercial frameworks and conduct pricing analysis for strategic opportunities and partnerships.

• Serve as a reliable partner for Business Development by providing proactive support for deals.

• Coordinate among business units to formulate joint deal structures.

• Collaborate with finance, commercial, and operations teams to assess and modify rates across various service areas, including methodology and competitive benchmarking.

• Create, analyze, and recommend MSA terms and partnership pricing, encompassing joint bids and comprehensive offerings.

• Work alongside finance, commercial, and operations to oversee pricing strategies, profit margin targets, and discount approval processes by service area and segment.

• Collaborate with sales operations and finance to monitor and analyze commercial and financial metrics related to proposals and authorizations.

• Partner with FP&A to continuously monitor actual project margins against bid margins, aiding in the formulation of pricing strategies.

• Assist the commercial finance leader in process improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining and enhancing the proposal or modification process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications.

• Over 8 years of pertinent experience.

• More than 3 years of management experience.

• MBA Degree (preferred but not mandatory).

• Skilled client negotiator with extensive knowledge of pricing terms.

• Proactive leader with a strong business acumen and a thirst for knowledge.

• Capable of exercising judgment and decision-making, supported by exceptional skills in financial research and analysis, financial modeling, and risk management.

• Proven ability to lead and manage large project teams, demonstrating a track record of goal-setting, communication of plans, progress monitoring, and achievement of results within a high-performing team environment.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments.

• Effective and respected partner to internal clients at all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, including research, reporting, and analytical skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.

• Strategic and innovative thinker; possesses strong communication skills with a storytelling approach to presentations.

• Proven capability to delegate effectively and balance workloads while meeting competing demands.
