Senior Manager, Special Events – Northern NJ & PA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Secure funding for Autism Speaks by recruiting and managing volunteers, raising awareness, soliciting corporate sponsorships, and organizing fundraising and mission events.

• Meet revenue targets for designated fundraising activities; the current portfolio goal is $460,000.

• Collaborate with the supervisor to establish planning timelines, income targets, expense budgets, and strategies for participant recruitment.

• Execute events with the help of volunteer leadership, focusing on committee recruitment and retention.

• Develop and implement strategies for sponsorship, corporate recruitment and retention, as well as mission integration.

• Assist in the local execution of Autism Speaks' global campaigns.

• Oversee daily operations of events, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements, and materials management.

• Provide administrative assistance to volunteer committees.

• Deliver presentations to businesses, organizations, and community groups to secure sponsorships and recruit teams and committee volunteers.

• Manage accounts throughout the year.

• Incorporate digital marketing strategies, such as email campaigns, fundraising websites, and other digital outreach efforts.

• Travel across New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania to support events and programs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of professional work experience.

• More than 5 years of proven leadership in peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, relationship-building, networking, budget management, and mobilizing volunteers.

• Demonstrated multifaceted fundraising experience in special events, multiple walk events, and corporate campaigns.

• Capability to independently develop and implement fundraising and volunteer development plans.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Proficient in prospecting, recruiting, managing, and developing volunteers.

• Strong analytical abilities and sound judgment.

• Proficiency in MS Office 365.

• Familiarity with databases; experience with Raiser’s Edge and/or Luminate preferred.

• Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

• Ability to set up and transport event materials and remain actively engaged on-site for extended periods.

• Regular use of a computer for extended durations.

• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and necessary insurance.
