This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.
• Develop the strategic vision and oversee daily operations for a portfolio of commercial events, which includes internal meetings, Medical Education initiatives, and tradeshows.
• Establish benchmarks for investment strategy, event design, and market and customer engagement in collaboration with senior leadership and marketing executives.
• Design a framework for directing investments, assessing show impacts, and managing cross-business reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of 11 event professionals.
• Partner with Key Opinion Leaders and Society Engagement, as well as Business Unit marketing, sales, market leadership, medical education, and Finance teams.
• Oversee approximately $4.5 million in direct variable expenditure and influence an additional $7 million in indirect costs.
• Provide strategic insights to senior stakeholders and attend key events as necessary.
• Over 10 years of experience in event strategy, commercial marketing, or marketing operations.
• At least 5 years of experience in leading and developing teams.
• Proven experience managing individual event budgets and complex, portfolio-wide functional budgets.
• Strong financial insight and demonstrated success in functional budget management.
• Capability to assess and demonstrate the business impact of tradeshows and events utilizing clear KPIs.
• Expertise in building an events strategy from the ground up.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and hands-on experience with event management software is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Ability to fulfill minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodations.
• Emotionally intelligent leadership and executive presence.
• Strong skills in cross-Business Unit collaboration.
• Extensive operational knowledge in events.
• Comfort in making strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to key events as necessary.
