This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the operational planning, execution, and delivery of all tournament operations related to the Sony Championship.
• Create and implement the tournament operations plan from the initial planning phase to the completion of the event.
• Develop and maintain operational timelines and project plans.
• Supervise venue infrastructure, encompassing tents, structures, utilities, fencing, flooring, signage, décor, and temporary facilities.
• Direct site planning and venue logistics.
• Manage the schedules for tournament build and teardown.
• Oversee the recruitment, organization, and training of volunteers.
• Ensure operational readiness across all functional areas.
• Source, negotiate, and manage operational vendors and contractors.
• Develop scopes of work and monitor the performance of vendors.
• Handle procurement and equipment rentals.
• Ensure that vendors comply with contractual obligations, safety standards, and event requirements.
• Act as the primary operational liaison with the host venue.
• Coordinate course setup requirements in collaboration with tournament officials.
• Manage compound locations, parking plans, transportation routes, and back-of-house operations.
• Coordinate utilities, power, water, internet, and communications infrastructure.
• Develop and manage the tournament operations budget.
• Monitor expenditures and identify cost efficiencies.
• Process purchase orders and invoices.
• Assist with financial forecasting and reconciliation.
• Report directly to the Tournament Director.
• Enhance event prestige, profile, and sustainable brand equity.
• Provide thought leadership across events and geographical regions.
• Foster innovation and change within a traditional sport.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
• 8+ years of experience in events, hospitality, and/or sponsorship services.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capability to produce high-quality work.
• Willingness to travel and work during non-traditional hours and weekends.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Proven effectiveness in both independent and team environments.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Experience with design programs is a plus.
