Senior Manager, Procurement Packaging – 9 Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Perform ongoing evaluations and analyses of the packaging category to uncover trends, assess performance risks, enhance supply chain efficiencies, and respond to market demands.

• Create detailed reports and data-driven suggestions that guide strategic sourcing decisions.

• Sustain a comprehensive database of existing and potential packaging suppliers, outlining cost structures, geographical locations, availability, demand, and other key performance indicators to aid decision-making.

• Keep abreast of market trends, raw material availability, and external influences (such as natural disasters and supply chain disruptions) that may affect packaging supply, and communicate these proactively to stakeholders.

• Oversee the identification, onboarding, and offboarding processes for packaging suppliers, ensuring alignment with AG1’s standards for quality, sustainability, and innovation.

• Regularly assess and monitor supplier performance, driving improvements and ensuring risk mitigation throughout the supply chain.

• Coordinate the procurement and prompt delivery of packaging samples for evaluation, ensuring they fulfill product requirements and quality benchmarks.

• Collaborate closely with the Legal and Quality teams to guarantee that suppliers adhere to AG1’s certifications, regulatory standards, and specifications.

• Promote packaging supplier diversity by securing alternative suppliers and enhancing supply chain flexibility to reduce the risk of disruptions.

• Work with suppliers to optimize the supply chain, focusing on reducing lead times, minimizing waste, and improving delivery schedules to align with production timelines.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to synchronize packaging procurement strategies with sustainability objectives, quality standards, and cost-efficiency goals.

• Assist Product Development and RNI teams in launching new products and packaging innovations through the stage-gate process, ensuring supplier choices align with business objectives.

• Facilitate research and analysis of packaging components to drive innovation, helping product development teams create novel and sustainable packaging solutions.

• Offer recommendations to internal stakeholders regarding packaging materials, evaluating whether to maintain, enhance, modify, or discontinue based on performance and market analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 8 years of experience in market research, data analysis, or a procurement-related position.

• Demonstrated experience in managing supplier relationships, especially concerning packaging materials, components, and innovation.

• Expertise in optimizing supply chains and ensuring diversity and excellence among suppliers.

• Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey insights effectively.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team setting.

• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes and procurement methodologies.
