Senior Manager, Mainframe Solution Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead intricate mainframe solution design and delivery projects for both existing clients and new business opportunities.

• Propel strategic architecture for mainframe modernization, hybrid integration, and enhancements of mission-critical platforms.

• Design and supervise cross-solution impact assessments that align with enterprise architecture, system integration, and business needs.

• Ensure solution integrity across complex mainframe environments and scenarios involving hybrid-cloud connectivity.

• Provide technical guidance to Solution Architects regarding technology selections, best practices, and design patterns.

• Engage with client stakeholders to collect technical and business requirements, translating them into process and data flows.

• Maintain client mainframe solution roadmaps that incorporate technical alterations, emerging technologies, and standardized components.

• Define, scope, and estimate mainframe projects, including new business ventures and account expansions.

• Monitor implementation progress against SLAs and proactively address potential risks.

• Ensure that designs fulfill functional, technical, regulatory, and SLA criteria.

• Document and disseminate architecture best practices, case studies, and lessons learned.

• Advise management, technical teams, and clients on mainframe architecture and emerging solutions.

• Mentor and foster the development of Solution Architects.

• Define and advocate for solution standards, methodologies, processes, and continuous improvement practices.

• Cultivate relationships with product teams and offer feedback on enhancements to mainframe products.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in technical roles.

• A minimum of 3 years in architect or senior technical leadership positions.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with mainframe platforms, including z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, or similar technologies.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an external client-facing environment managing complex stakeholder relationships.

• At least 5 years of experience with change management protocols and enterprise solution governance.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience with Ensono, or equivalent experience with mainframe managed service providers or systems integrators.

• Proven expertise in mainframe modernization, cloud-to-mainframe integration, or hybrid mainframe architectures.

• Strong understanding of Ensono Delivery Methodology, Solution Center Framework, and Ensono’s mainframe service offerings.

• Capability to lead scoping, estimation, and pre-sales efforts.

• Proficient in using Ensono estimation tools and methodologies.

• Familiarity with Ensono project management and development methodologies.

• Bonus: experience with RACF, ACF2, TSS, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOX.

• Bonus: knowledge of mainframe DevOps, container technologies, or API-first architecture.

• Bonus: certifications in mainframe technologies or cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Bonus: experience in leading mainframe migrations or platform consolidations.
