Senior Manager, IT Project Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of project managers in delivering intricate technology initiatives that align with business goals and strategic transformation efforts.

• Supervise a portfolio encompassing IT projects, programs, and strategic initiatives.

• Ensure project alignment with organizational priorities and business objectives.

• Manage the scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies of projects.

• Monitor project performance and provide executive-level updates on status, risks, and results.

• Propel the execution of large-scale technology implementations, upgrades, integrations, and digital transformation efforts.

• Collaborate with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to establish objectives and success metrics.

• Relay progress, critical decisions, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.

• Facilitate governance meetings and steering committee assessments.

• Cultivate cross-functional relationships to foster collaboration and decision-making.

• Develop and sustain project governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards.

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, security regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Advocate for continuous improvement to boost project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

• Implement project management tools, metrics, and reporting functionalities.

• Oversee project budgets and resource distribution across the portfolio.

• Monitor expenditures, project cost forecasts, and maintain financial accountability.

• Assist in annual planning, budgeting, and capacity management processes.

• Assess vendor performance and manage external consulting partnerships as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in IT project or program management.

• More than 3 years of leadership experience managing project or program management teams.

• Proven track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional technology initiatives within complex enterprise environments.

• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.

• Experience in managing project budgets, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities.

• Preferred certifications include PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent.

• Experience in leading programs related to cloud migration, ERP, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, or digital transformation.

• Familiarity with project portfolio management (PPM) tools and reporting systems.
