This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee a geographically distributed team of engineers and support analysts, ensuring on-site presence in Tempe and Chicago. Mentor the team, establish performance benchmarks, and create an operational rhythm that enhances talent density.
β’ Articulate the vision of a contemporary IT function at Engine β encompassing device lifecycle management, endpoint security, internal tools, and system integrations. Eliminate outdated processes and consolidate necessary ones.
β’ Design Okta to serve as Engine's definitive source for identity, access, and automation. Streamline onboarding, offboarding, provisioning, and access reviews β if a process is currently manual, it will be automated within six months.
β’ Set, assess, and achieve SLAs across Tier 1/2 support, device lifecycle, and access management.
β’ Collaborate with the Security team on Okta, SSO, MFA, and access reviews. Ensure that scaling operations does not compromise fundamental security measures.
β’ Make informed decisions regarding engineering investments. Prioritize initiatives with significant business impact and decline less critical projects.
β’ You have previously led IT teams in dynamic, remote-first settings. Your experience includes overseeing phases of fixing and modernizing systems, not just maintaining the status quo.
β’ Extensive knowledge of Okta (mandatory), contemporary MDM solutions (such as Intune, Jamf, Kandji, or similar), Google Workspace, and the Atlassian suite. While certifications are beneficial, practical experience is valued more highly.
β’ You possess the ability to define, sequence, and execute complex cross-functional initiatives (such as domain consolidations, IAM implementations, and tool migrations) within established timelines.
β’ Automation is your default approach. You have utilized Okta (or a comparable IDP) for provisioning, and you understand what constitutes a modern IT architecture.
β’ As a leader, you are still technically hands-on. You have significant experience across Tier 1/2 support, device lifecycle management, identity, and endpoint security, and you can troubleshoot alongside your team when necessary.
β’ You grasp the balance between productivity and security. You have collaborated with security teams on audits, access reviews, endpoint health assessments, and incident responses.
β’ You investigate ways AI can enhance IT operations β including intelligent alerting, automated resolutions, and improved employee experiences β and advocate for promising ideas to be implemented.
β’ You uphold the highest standards without impeding business progress.
β’ Competitive base salary aligned with role and experience, alongside potential bonuses, commissions, and equity opportunities.
