This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the complete global payroll operating model for employees, contractors, EORs, PEOs, and local service providers.
• Oversee and nurture a team of 2–3 direct reports while ensuring disciplined execution and maintaining high operational standards.
• Direct the operational management of employee equity in Shareworks, including grant processing, data updates, and reconciliation across multiple departments.
• Recognize and deploy automation workflows to reduce manual data transfers, recurring exceptions, and data friction.
• Collaborate with HR Technology, IT, and Finance to facilitate payroll platform consolidations and enhance system reliability.
• Enhance compliance protocols, payroll controls, and documentation to safeguard the business against financial risks and guarantee audit readiness.
• Create transparent processing calendars, accountability metrics, and data scorecards to evaluate function accuracy and capacity improvements.
• Address intricate tax, equity, and market-specific payroll challenges to ensure prompt cross-functional resolutions.
• Global Payroll Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing payroll operations across multiple countries, particularly within EOR, PEO, and local provider frameworks.
• Equity Administration Expertise: Direct experience with equity platforms like Shareworks, including managing grant lifecycles and coordinating complex equity tax issues.
• Systems & Automation Focus: A robust history of designing HRIS integrations, streamlining workflows, and intentionally eliminating manual touchpoints in financial operations.
• Controls & Compliance Rigor: Extensive knowledge of payroll controls, financial audit preparedness, and tax implications in a high-growth technology or fintech corporate environment.
• Player-Coach Capability: Proven ability to manage and enhance the skills of a remote operational team while also serving as a hands-on technical expert.
• Commercial & Analytical Mindset: The capability to translate complex operational patterns into clear, data-driven decisions that enhance scaling efficiency across the company.
