This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the complete global payroll operating model for employees, contractors, EORs, PEOs, and local payroll service providers.
• Lead and nurture a team of 2–3 direct reports while upholding rigorous execution and high operational standards.
• Oversee the operational management of employee equity within Shareworks, including grant processing, record updates, and cross-functional reconciliations.
• Discover and implement automation processes to reduce manual data transfers, recurring exceptions, and data friction.
• Partner with HR technology, IT, and Finance teams to facilitate payroll platform consolidation and enhance system reliability.
• Fortify compliance protocols, payroll controls, and record retention to safeguard the company against financial risks and ensure audit preparedness.
• Create clear processing calendars, accountability metrics, and data dashboards to assess functional accuracy and capacity improvements.
• Engage directly with complex tax, equity, and payroll challenges specific to each market to expedite cross-functional resolutions.
• Global payroll leadership: Demonstrated expertise in managing multi-country payroll operations, especially in navigating EOR, PEO, and local provider frameworks.
• Equity administration expertise: Practical knowledge of equity platforms like Shareworks, including grant lifecycle management and intricate tax coordination related to equity.
• Systems and automation orientation: Proven experience in designing HRIS integrations, streamlining workflows, and deliberately minimizing manual interventions in financial operations.
• Controls and compliance rigor: Extensive understanding of payroll controls, financial audit preparation, and tax implications within a rapidly growing tech or fintech corporate setting.
• Hands-on coaching leader: Proven capability to manage and cultivate a remote operational team while also serving as a hands-on technical resource.
• Business and analytical mindset: Ability to convert complex operational trends into clear, data-driven decisions that enhance scaling efficiency across the organization.
