📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of Product Compliance Leads and compliance specialists dedicated to supporting global payroll products.

• Set team priorities, operating models, and development plans that facilitate scalable support across various products and jurisdictions.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Enhance organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, and initiatives for knowledge sharing.

• Ensure the team acts as a trusted partner to Product, Operations, and Legal stakeholders.

• Implement the strategic vision for Product Strategy & Compliance across Remote's global payroll platform.

• Develop frameworks and governance models that guarantee compliance requirements are uniformly integrated throughout the product lifecycle.

• Create scalable strategies for handling legislative changes, product readiness, and regulatory implementation across multiple countries.

• Collaborate with Product Leadership to align compliance priorities with overarching product strategy and business goals.

• Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing compliance coverage, operational scalability, and customer outcomes.

• Supervise the interpretation of intricate payroll, employment, tax, and labor legislation across various jurisdictions.

• Ensure that regulatory requirements are converted into clear business requirements, product specifications, and implementation guidance.

• Assist Product Managers and Engineering teams in crafting solutions that are compliant, scalable, and operationally effective.

• Offer strategic direction on how legislative requirements should be operationalized within products and workflows.

• Foster consistency in the assessment, documentation, and global implementation of compliance requirements.

• Collaborate closely with leaders in Product, Engineering, and Payroll Operations to integrate compliance controls into product architecture and automation frameworks.

• Promote compliance-by-design principles that minimize manual intervention and operational risks.

• Identify opportunities to utilize technology, automation, and AI to enhance compliance outcomes and customer experiences.

• Support the creation of scalable product capabilities that simplify regulatory complexities for customers.

• Influence roadmap decisions by balancing regulatory requirements, customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities.

• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of legislative and regulatory developments that affect Remote's payroll products.

• Establish processes that facilitate the proactive identification, prioritization, and implementation of regulatory changes.

• Aid country expansion initiatives by evaluating product readiness and regulatory requirements for new markets.

• Collaborate with Legal, Operations, and Product teams to formulate implementation strategies for evolving regulatory obligations.

• Ensure the organization stays informed about emerging trends, risks, and opportunities within the global payroll landscape.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Payroll Operations, and Executive Leadership.

• Provide strategic guidance on compliance risks, regulatory developments, market demands, and product direction.

• Represent Product Strategy & Compliance in roadmap planning, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional decision-making forums.

• Build robust partnerships throughout the organization to align compliance objectives with broader business goals.

• Foster collaboration among stakeholders to ensure that regulatory requirements are addressed efficiently and effectively.


⛳️ Requirements

• Profound understanding of global payroll, employment, tax, and labor compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

• Experience in translating complex regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities, business requirements, and operational processes.

• Strong knowledge of payroll technology, product development lifecycles, and compliance-by-design principles.

• Ability to balance regulatory obligations with customer experience, automation, and commercial objectives.

• Experience supporting global payroll products within highly regulated environments.

• Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams within Compliance, Product Compliance, Payroll, or related fields.

• Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a history of building team capability and future leaders.

• Experience in establishing strategic priorities, operating models, and governance frameworks.

• Ability to drive alignment and execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

• Capable of assessing complex regulatory requirements and determining practical, scalable implementation strategies.

• Experience in developing long-term strategies that support business growth while ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a risk-based perspective.

• Ability to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks that may influence product strategy.

• Experience in influencing senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities.

• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex regulatory concepts into clear business recommendations.

• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Executive stakeholders.

• Strong facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to cultivate trust and credibility across technical, operational, and leadership audiences.

• Comfortable presenting strategic recommendations and regulatory insights to senior leadership.
