Senior Manager, Financial Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategy, roadmap, and daily operations for Vanta's essential financial systems, including ERP, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Financial Planning tools.

• Establish and manage the financial data architecture: defining how data is input, processed, and output from our financial systems, with clear ownership of schemas, hierarchies, and master data.

• Facilitate integrations between our ERP and related systems, such as Salesforce, CPQ, Zip, Ramp, Navan, and others.

• Take ownership of our FP&A planning platform as both an administrator and strategic architect, ensuring data model integrity, defining use cases, and creating a long-term roadmap.

• Develop and sustain a finance data framework that outlines the structure of financial entities (cost centers, dimensions, segments) across systems, ensuring consistent reporting across the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.

• Collaborate with the Data team to ensure financial data source systems are well-governed, reliable, and easily accessible.

• Manage the systems and automation that facilitate our monthly financial close cycle, including reconciliations, intercompany flows, currency consolidations, and more.

• Act as the Finance systems lead on cross-functional projects with GTM Systems, Data, Accounting, and EPD, advocating for Finance's systems requirements.

• Oversee vendor relationships to guarantee high value realization and minimize support-related issues.

• Function as a hands-on player-coach: directly manage critical systems work while nurturing and developing a small team of financial systems engineers, maintaining high standards for technical quality and process rigor.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in financial systems, ERP administration, or finance technology, encompassing roles as a senior individual contributor and/or leadership experience; comfortable both building within the system and directing a team.

• Extensive, hands-on experience with ERPs, including multi-subsidiary configuration, scripting/workflow automation, saved searches, custom records, and period management.

• Proficient in administering a cloud FP&A planning platform, with an understanding of both its technical architecture and the planning use cases it supports.

• Proven ability to design scalable financial data structures, including cost center hierarchies, chart of accounts governance, master data management, and dimension design.

• Knowledgeable about API-based integrations, integration/middleware tools, and data pipelines connecting financial systems to a cloud data warehouse.

• Comfortable writing SQL to verify data, create reconciliations, and conduct ad hoc analysis from a data warehouse.

• Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes, including financial close, revenue recognition, multi-entity consolidations, and cost management.

• History of effective collaboration with Accounting, FP&A, Data Engineering, and GTM Systems teams, translating finance requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Experienced in building financial systems infrastructure, not solely maintaining it; knowledgeable about what 'good' looks like and how to achieve it from a challenging starting point.

• Open to utilizing AI to enhance skills and improve work efficiency, showing curiosity, a readiness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly.
