• Create analytical models that support decision-making and highlight explicit or implicit cost-saving opportunities. Work in tandem with operations and technical teams to share insights and facilitate change.

• Generate clear and actionable reports that convert financial data into practical information, aiding leaders in managing their expenditures.

• Oversee the business justification process throughout the organization, ensuring that KoBold efficiently allocates capital across its programs and teams.

• Gain a thorough understanding of KoBold’s technical operations—including how exploration programs are executed, mine development processes, and cost drivers—and utilize this knowledge to enhance team performance and challenge or inform cost assumptions.

• Cultivate strong working relationships with operational leaders across the organization, serving as a finance partner who comprehends their functions.

• Assist in creating appropriate performance metrics and develop the necessary reporting and processes to promote accountability.

• Conduct in-depth variance analysis and aid teams in understanding their expenditures, making necessary corrections along the way.

• Support the evaluation, selection, and design of FP&A systems and tools—both third-party and custom-built—to accommodate a rapidly expanding global business with intricate operations.

• Propel automation and implement AI-driven workflows that minimize manual tasks, enhance forecast accuracy, and maintain a streamlined team.

• Develop scalable processes and reporting frameworks, nurturing a culture that prioritizes process improvement as vital for future success.

• Continue to build a small, high-performing FP&A team, setting ambitious standards and enhancing capabilities.

• Convey financial insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, ranging from field operators to the executive leadership team.

• Assist in IPO readiness initiatives by developing FP&A capabilities suited for a public company.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of FP&A or corporate finance experience, preferably within a capital-intensive, operationally complex industry (such as mining, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, or similar).

• Experience in managing small, effective teams in dynamic, high-growth settings with a strong emphasis on accountability and execution quality.

• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with an ability to align finance with commercial and operational requirements.

• Proven experience in evaluating and implementing finance technology platforms, with enthusiasm for applying AI to FP&A workflows.

• Eager to learn about all facets of our business, including traveling to exploration field operations and mine development sites.

• Exhibits integrity, sound judgment, and comfort operating with both urgency and precision.

• Possesses advanced Excel financial modeling skills and direct experience with ERP systems; familiarity with SQL or Python is a significant advantage.

• Strong communicator capable of crafting well-synthesized narratives that help leaders across all disciplines better understand their roles.

• High level of independence and the capability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
