This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of Galileo’s central finance and accounting engine: ensuring timely and accurate book closings, managing cash flow, equipping regional leaders with essential P&L insights for effective program management, and maintaining organizational readiness for audits and compliance across all jurisdictions we operate in.
• Oversee the entire month-end close process, guaranteeing an accurate, complete, and timely closure each period.
• Prepare and record journal entries, including payroll and revenue entries, while maintaining thorough documentation and reconciliations.
• Generate regional P&Ls and collaborate with regional and functional leaders to elucidate results, variances, and trends.
• Present monthly close reports to the board, ensuring that all packages are accurate, timely, and clearly articulated.
• Create and sustain a weekly cash-flow forecast to provide leadership with clear insights into liquidity and future needs.
• Manage facility payments and other recurring obligations, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Administer Bill.com for accounts payable, overseeing vendor records, approvals, and timely payment processing.
• Facilitate budget meetings with regional and functional leaders, constructing budgets and monitoring performance against them throughout the year.
• Oversee business licenses across all jurisdictions, ensuring that registrations are up-to-date and in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including responsibility for month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and a solid understanding of GAAP.
• Practical experience with accounting/ERP systems and AP/expense tools like Bill.com and Expensify.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets at an advanced level.
• Experience in cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, and collaborating with non-financial leaders on financial matters.
• Knowledge of multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction compliance, including business licenses, tax filings, insurance/COIs, and audit support.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
• Clear and confident communication skills, along with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and a genuine connection to Galileo’s mission.
