Financial Reporting Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Acts as the main liaison for external auditors.

• Oversees the planning, organization, and prompt execution of the annual consolidated system audit.

• Manages the annual tax return timeline and ensures all necessary tax filings are completed on schedule.

• Prepares and contributes to financial documentation for Board and Committee meetings.

• Coordinates both quarterly and annual external bond reporting, as well as CHIA reporting.

• Leads the consolidated monthly close reporting in collaboration with subsidiary entities.

• Serves as a comprehensive technical accounting resource across the system.

• Maintains robust control procedures throughout all financial reporting and tax processes.

• Constantly seeks ways to enhance the efficiency of financial reporting, audit, and tax operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, coordination of external audits, or tax compliance.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.

• Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Understanding of federal and state nonprofit tax compliance regulations.

• Capability to handle multiple simultaneous reporting deadlines.

• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting financial statements.

• Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts effectively.

• Expertise in assessing financial reporting workflows and implementing technological or procedural improvements.
