Senior Manager, Engineering

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Engineering Manager, you may be called upon to write code; however, your primary responsibilities will include reviewing code and ensuring that our engineers are making sound design choices.

• Drive and evaluate technical designs, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with the long-term objectives of the platform.

• Lead an agile engineering process that is continually improving. A strong sense of ownership over your deliverables and milestones is essential.

• Assist product feature teams in expediting product feature development by creating capabilities that simplify the OneStudyTeam architecture and minimize technical debt.

• Ensure the team consistently delivers on time and predictably through effective planning, prioritization, and communication with stakeholders.

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.

• Recruit and hire engineers in alignment with organizational values.

• Oversee an engineering team comprising up to 5 engineers.

• Familiarity with our technology stack is not mandatory. We utilize: ReactJS, Javascript, Typescript, Clojure, AWS, Postgres, Kafka, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and Git.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven engineering management experience with a strong record of delivering product features using Agile methodologies, either on or ahead of schedule.

• A genuine passion for enhancing developer experience and increasing developer velocity.

• Familiarity with the strengths and challenges of utilizing LLMs in software development.

• Experience in remote work environments. The engineering team operates in a distributed manner with remote-first practices.

• Extensive experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex technical initiatives, with a successful track record in making impactful architectural and design decisions.

• As a former engineer, you can confidently engage in technical discussions.

• Analytical thinker capable of navigating ambiguity, deconstructing complex problems, and guiding the team towards effective, practical solutions.

• Relevant experience or a strong interest in healthcare products.
