This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Lead, develop, and implement technical transfers to and commercial supply from External Partner(s).
• Collaborate with various technical functions to ensure successful technical transfers and commercial manufacturing with External Partner(s).
• Serve as the main technical contact for assigned External Partners.
• Provide technical oversight, management, and planning support for intricate partnership models.
• Operate independently while coordinating, communicating, and overseeing technical issues with assigned External Partners.
• Responsible to External Manufacturing for the overall delivery of tech transfers (on schedule and within budget).
• Offer technical guidance to External Partners, evaluate the feasibility of technology in proposed process configurations, and ensure compliance with required standards.
• Work alongside Procurement, External Manufacturing Operations, External Quality, Regulatory, and other departments to assess External Partner(s) for integration into the Company Network.
• Conduct technical due diligence assessments for External Partner(s).
• Position tech transfers to achieve successful business outcomes.
• Lead the team to identify and evaluate partner risks, developing mitigation strategies.
• Provide manufacturing process support to External Partner(s) to address production challenges and offer guidance on process and capacity optimization.
• Ensure effective communication and alignment across technical functions.
• Mentor and guide others in change leadership.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant Science field is essential.
• An advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or Business is highly desirable.
• At least 8 (eight) years of experience post-bachelor’s degree in Drug Substance and/or Drug Product vaccines and/or biologics manufacturing, engineering, and/or technical operations support is required.
• Proven expertise and achievements in leading technical transfers are mandatory.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations at internal sites or External Partner(s) is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing applications to ensure continuous productivity improvements is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience leading teams to tackle complex business or technical challenges are required.
• Exceptional leadership, collaboration, change management, interpersonal, analytical skills, and the ability to engage as a dependable team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.
• Ability to inspire a team around a shared vision and deliver anticipated results is preferred.
• Creative, innovative, out-of-the-box thinker, self-motivated, adept at problem-solving, with a solid foundation in engineering principles and process troubleshooting is preferred.
• Experience in a complex international environment with matrix organizational structures is preferred.
• Familiarity with Large Molecule unit operation design, startup, and/or operation is preferred.
