Senior Manager – Engine Development Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee a run the engine development support team tasked with resolving intricate production challenges across data, integration, and platform technologies.

• Deliver hands-on technical guidance in SQL, Python, Snowflake, Databricks, Talend, and API/integration platforms.

• Ensure that all code modifications, fixes, and enhancements adhere to established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), validation, and change control protocols.

• Drive root cause analysis, ensuring that issues are thoroughly investigated, documented, and resolved permanently.

• Enforce coding standards, code review procedures, and development best practices throughout the team.

• Collaborate closely with platform, operations, QA/compliance, and business teams to maintain stable and compliant production operations.

• Oversee the prioritization and execution of production support tasks, ensuring prompt resolution of high-priority issues.

• Implement operational controls, monitoring, and governance processes to minimize the recurrence of issues.

• Develop and enhance the run the engine development function, including team structure, processes, documentation, and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Mentor and cultivate team members while promoting accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.

• Previous experience in software development, data engineering, integration development, or production support roles that equip the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the role (approximately 8-10 years’ experience).

• Over 5 years of leadership experience managing technical development or support teams.

• Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Snowflake, Databricks, Talend, and middleware platforms such as Oracle SOA and/or MuleSoft.

• Experience in supporting clinical, pharmaceutical, or regulated Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GxP) environments.

• Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV).

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and operational automation.

• Experience in building or transforming production support organizations.

• Understanding of cloud-based enterprise data platforms and modern integration architectures.

• Demonstrated ability to lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective measures.

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
