📋 Description

• GiveDirectly is enhancing its emergency response initiatives to assist a greater number of individuals more swiftly, providing cash in the aftermath of crises.

• In the role of Senior Manager within the Humanitarian team, you will be instrumental in initiating and managing rapid cash responses on a global scale.

• You will lead organizational preparedness, formulate response strategies, oversee program execution, and aid in fundraising efforts by translating insights from the field into persuasive cases for support.

• The Senior Manager’s portfolio will include a Program Manager, who will report directly to the Senior Manager.

• Additional responsibilities will encompass assistance with staffing and budgeting processes, as well as managing both internal and external relationships.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8+ years of experience in a role centered around problem-solving, team leadership, and/or business development. Previous experience in humanitarian or emergency contexts is highly preferred.

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams, prioritize or deprioritize effectively, and maintain a high standard of quality.

• Proficient technical skills, encompassing data analysis and a knack for quickly learning new third-party technology platforms and tools.

• Fundraising: Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in partnership and relationship management.

• Strong communication abilities: adept at speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Passion for dynamic environments that may lack a predefined roadmap for success and involve substantial “learning by doing.” Comfort with ambiguity and the capability to build systems from the ground up.

• Preferred: Fluency in a language other than English, particularly French, Portuguese, Arabic, or other languages.
