This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Implement our 2026 election protection strategy within voting and election coalitions.
• Develop and execute a plan to put this strategy into action with our coalition partners.
• Proven experience managing coalitions or groups that encompass stakeholders with varying interests to accomplish a common objective.
• In-depth understanding of the distinct elements of our national political landscape, along with familiarity with funders and decision-makers at the national level, with a preference for candidates who already have established relationships with these individuals and organizations.
• Track record of leading successful public advocacy campaigns at the local or state level, and organizing efforts related to democracy, elections, voting rights, and civil rights, including the ability to create and manage campaign or annual plans from inception to execution.
• Willingness to travel 3-4 times annually for team and/or all-staff retreats.
• Capability to work in-person in the DC or state office a minimum of 2 days per week.
• Openness to maintain a social media presence on behalf of Common Cause, which includes being tagged in posts and generating content for the organization as needed (Common Cause will provide accounts for staff members to utilize).
• As per our nonpartisan policy, Common Cause staff members must not currently hold elected office (or be running for office); serve on the Steering Committee or Finance Committee for any political candidate; or be affiliated with the leadership of a political party.
