This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the creation of models and decision systems that enhance Honor's ability to match caregivers with clients, develop sustainable schedules, allocate resources, prioritize operational tasks, and adapt to changing conditions.
• Your team will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Care Operations to transform complex operational challenges into production systems that yield measurable improvements.
• Contribute to the overarching direction of Honor’s Data Science and Applied AI initiatives.
• Help define the team's roadmap while actively participating as a player-coach.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations from the initial problem definition through to deployment, adoption, and ongoing iteration.
• Set robust standards for evaluating, monitoring, and ethically deploying machine learning and AI-driven systems.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the team while staying engaged in high-priority projects as a player-coach.
• Over 7 years of experience in data science, machine learning, operations research, applied AI, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building or guiding the development of models or decision systems that have been implemented in production and have significantly impacted business or customer outcomes.
• Ability to assess whether a challenge requires prediction, optimization, experimentation, simulation, workflow redesign, an AI agent, or no model at all.
• Recognize that successful applied AI goes beyond model selection; it necessitates clear objectives, dependable data and tools, thorough evaluation, thoughtful system design, and suitable human oversight.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior business stakeholders on complex, cross-functional challenges.
• Comfortable navigating imperfect operational data while upholding high standards for measurement and technical precision.
• Capable of communicating effectively with technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a bias towards action and an iterative problem-solving methodology. You are prepared to analyze data, comprehend workflows, prototype solutions, and refine your perspective.
• Possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to set clear expectations, nurture talent, prioritize tasks, and foster a robust technical culture.
