This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop data science methodologies that align client business objectives with statistical, technical, and data limitations.
• Utilize Python for data analysis workflows employing tools like pandas, NumPy, matplotlib/plotly, scikit-learn, SQL, git, and GitHub.
• Conduct analyses on healthcare, marketing, commercial, clinical, or utilization data through techniques such as natural language processing, free-text analysis, clustering, geospatial analysis, descriptive statistics, and predictive modeling.
• Convert technical insights into coherent data narratives, visualizations, and actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Oversee and contribute to experimental design, data analysis processes, and documentation throughout consulting projects.
• Bachelor's degree in a computational, scientific, or health-related discipline, such as statistics, mathematics, or bioinformatics.
• Proven experience in analyzing both structured and unstructured data, demonstrating an understanding of bias, error, confounding factors, power, and significance.
• Practical experience with Python data analysis libraries like NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, or scikit-learn, and SQL for data extraction or analysis.
• Familiarity with git, GitHub, and command-line environments for documenting and collaborating on analytical scripts.
• Experience in translating technical analyses into written or spoken recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Capability to independently define, execute, and articulate smaller analysis tasks while collaborating with data scientists, consultants, and strategists on larger initiatives.
• Hands-on experience utilizing AI tools to enhance technical work, ensuring validation, maintainability, and reliability.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous or evolving business inquiries, articulating assumptions, and adapting to new contexts.
• Preferred: Over 3 years of professional experience in analytics, data science, or applied research beyond an academic setting.
• Experience working with real-world data (RWD), such as healthcare administrative claims, EHR data, or clinical outcomes.
• Knowledge of cloud-based analytics platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or similar environments.
• Advanced degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience with advanced analytic methodologies and technologies to address business or clinical inquiries, including natural language processing, hierarchical Bayesian modeling, Markov chain Monte Carlo, and generative AI.
