Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Comprehending the data provided by our clients;

• Cleaning and verifying the accuracy of that data;

• Preprocessing the data, typically using a combination of shell scripts and programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, etc.;

• Iteratively computing features and fine-tuning parameters to enhance the model's quality;

• Presenting your insights to the project manager and aiding in decision-making regarding the Data Science aspects of the project;

• Collaborating with key stakeholders (data scientists, engineers, risk managers) from our client base;

• Coordinating with other departments (Product, Research, etc.) to refine processes, best practices, and tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline;

• Expertise in Machine Learning (training and testing, preventing overfitting, etc.);

• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and related tools;

• Proficient in bash, Python, and at least one of either Java or Scala;

• Understanding of resource monitoring and runtime optimization (both at the JVM and OS level);

• Knowledge of statistics or data visualization is advantageous;

• Familiarity with tree-based algorithms (Random Forests, XGBoost, LGBM) is a plus;

• Understanding of Deep Learning algorithms is beneficial;

• Ability to clearly communicate your findings.
