Senior Manager, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the roadmap, architecture, delivery, and operation of data products.

• Develop a data mesh architecture that emphasizes business domains.

• Lead a high-accountability engineering team.

• Establish clear ownership, mentor in technical and product thinking, foster succession planning, and cultivate an inclusive environment.

• Collaborate on requirements, production-ready datasets, semantic models, and data readiness for Analytics and AI.

• Provide reusable patterns, documentation, coaching, and a structured path for Agency colleagues to create approved reports and simple workflows.

• Ensure that priority data products meet standards for reliability, freshness, and quality.

• Support access reviews, control tests, delivery-cycle enhancements, adoption of reusable patterns, incident reduction, and trusted data access.

⛳️ Requirements

• Progressive experience in leading engineers and delivering production data platforms, pipelines, and shared data products within a complex organization.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Experience with data modeling, orchestration, cloud data architecture, and engineering practices.

• Significant experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with testing, version control, controlled deployment, data quality, observability, lineage, access management, and production support.
